After the conventional yarn is heated, the highest shrinkage rate usually does not exceed 10%, while the shrinkage rate of high-shrinkage yarn is generally more than 30%, or even up to 60% to 70%.The high shrinkage yarn is generally used in blending with other fibers, in the process of dyeing so that it shrinks when heated, making it curl, fluffy, etc., so that the fabric could be with good hand feeling.
PRINCIPLE
There are three methods of manufacturing high shrinkage fibers, namely, chemical modification methods, physical modification methods, and a combination of both. All three methods are based on reducing the crystallinity of the fiber and increasing the proportion of amorphous regions.
