Selecting polyester CEY yarn is rarely as simple as comparing denier or choosing the option labeled “high elastic.” Two similar yarn specifications can create noticeably different fabric weight, drape, recovery, texture, and resistance to bagging once they are woven, dyed, heat-set, and sewn.

Stretch fabrics do not all need the tight pull or high extension of spandex. For dresses, trousers, blouses, and lightweight tailoring, manufacturers often need a yarn that adds comfortable movement while preserving drape, shape, and a refined surface.
